Before Treatment Prep
-
Complete all self-care and beauty treatments (manicures, pedicures, facials, hair appointments, waxing, laser treatments, etc.) at least 24 hours prior to your tanning session.
Avoid getting a spray tan if your skin is peeling or if you have open wounds, microneedling, lasers or recent tattoos that are not fully healed.
-
Exfoliate 24 hours before your appointment using a non-oil-based exfoliator, such as a basic loofah or washcloth.
Exfoliating 2-3 times leading up to your appointment can help remove dead skin cells and create a smooth surface.
Avoid using lotion, gel, wax, shaving cream, or any oil-based products, as they can leave residue that prevents the tanning solution from developing evenly.
Shave 24 hours before your appointment. This gives your pores time to close and allows amino acids in your skin to regenerate - DHA needs these to develop properly.
Use a clean, sharp razor and avoid shaving creams with oils.
-
Hydration is key! Drink plenty of water.
Moisturize daily in the days leading up to your appointment, but not on the day of your tan.
Do not use creams, lotions or gels that may leave a film or wax on the skin. Avoid products containing mineral oil, silicone or exfoliating acids (AHA’s/BHA’s)
-
Do not apply any products on your skin after showering and before your appointment, including:
Lotions
Oils
Perfumes
Deodorants
Makeup
Sunscreen
These can act as barriers and affect the outcome of the tanning solution.
-
Wear loose, dark-colored clothing to prevent rubbing or streaking.
Avoid tight or restrictive clothing that could cause uneven development.
Sandals or flip-flops are recommended to avoid marks on your feet.

Aftercare
-
Avoid water, sweating, and skin-to-skin contact.
Be gentle with your skin—do not touch, scratch, or rub the tanned areas.
Stay cool and dry until your designated rinse time.
-
Shower at the exact time recommended by your technician. Leaving the solution on too long or rinsing too early can affect your results.
Rinse with cool to lukewarm water only, no soap or products, until the water runs clear.
After showering, pat your skin dry gently with a towel. Do not rub.
-
Use spray tan–safe body washes and moisturizers.
Avoid oil-based or exfoliating products.
Moisturize daily with a high-quality lotion to maintain an even, radiant glow.
-
Excessive sweating.
Long, hot showers or baths.
Chlorine and saltwater exposure.
Waxing (gentle shaving is acceptable).
